Microsoft Pull Thousands of Fake Windows Application Store
Microsoft removes 1,500 fraudulent applications outstanding at the Windows Store app store. Some users criticized that the false application becomes a breeding ground for spam or scams.
Reported Pcauthority, Friday (29/08/2014), Microsoft cleaning applications in the app store Windows and Windows Phone. Application of this scam seem troubling some users since the beginning of this month.
Reportedly, some of the applications that are forged among others, VLC and iTunes. Users have to spend money to buy the application, but the application is apparently not promise what the user expected.
"It's been over two years since Windows 8 is released.'s Been a problem all the time and is getting worse. If Microsoft tries to offer a secure app store for Windows users, they have failed," said How-To Geek website that complained about the appearance of fraudulent applications in the Windows Store.
That said, the company changed the requirements for certification of Windows Store applications. Applications that appear in the Windows Store must also reflect the clarity and accuracy and precise categorized according to function and purpose.
Todd Brix, General Manager of Windows Apps and Store Team at Microsoft, said the new policy set for the delivery of new applications and to existing applications in the Windows Store.
"Most of the applications under development is caught in violation of our policies have good intentions and agreed to make the necessary changes," he explained.
