Start Next Year Samsung Processor MediaTek Wear?
DigiTimes has published a report which revealed that Samsung will start using the processor from MediaTek starting next year. MediaTek is a supplier of processor chips are mounted on devices owned by different manufactures state that was circulated in India and China, and from mid-year 2014 will be a supplier to Samsung. MediaTek will offer a quad-core processor and octa-core for the Korean smartphone vendor.
If the information reported is true, it seems we will see the Samsung smartphone to lower middle class using chips from MediaTek, whereas for high-end devices will continue to use the Samsung Exynos processor that they develop. This seems to be aiming to reduce the cost to manufacture smartphones to lower middle class and the Exynos chip production costs are limited to the flagship.
