Unique Camera, Can Up-Down and Left-Right
360 degree panorama? Ah, that's normal. How to capture photos from any direction, left-right and up-down, in a single frame? That is offered by the new camera from Ricoh. Theta name.
Excerpted from The Verge, cameras introduced at the IFA 2013 in Berlin this allows users to capture photos of "360-degree spherical" aka all directions with two ultra-wide lens. Results picture looks unique with a round shape and a very broad view of the scope.
Theta itself has an unusual shape, which resembles a USB modem on the two sides of the lens and a shutter button. He weighs about 95 grams. Theta also provides on-board memory capacity of 4 GB which according to the author can hold about 1,200 photos.

Sensor resolution is not explained. However, from the search results, it is estimated that the figure is about 6.4 megapixels.
There was no screen or other mechanism to take a snapshot. With coverage in all directions, the framing process does not seem to be done and would be very difficult if at all. All parameter settings such as shutter speed and photo white balance was done automatically.
To see the shots, Ricoh Theta can be connected to iOS devices via WiFi. The photos can then be uploaded to social networking sites like Twitter, Tumblr, and Facebook.
Theta Ricoh plans to start shipping in October at a price of 399 U.S. dollars per unit or approximately USD 4.5 million.
