Espinel , the Intellectual Property Enforcement Coordinator is the
first American team in the administration of President Obama , was
appointed as President and CEO of the Business Software Alliance ( BSA )
. As of 3 September 2013 he will begin to actively lead the software industry association .
" We are thrilled with the chosen Victoria as a leader who will deliver to the BSA important step in the growth and evolution of the software industry , " said Board Chairman BSA , Pascal In Fronzo , Senior Vice President and General Counsel , Autodesk , Inc. .
In a statement on Saturday ( 08/31/2013 ) , Victoria considered to have outstanding expertise on key issues concerning trade policy , market access and intellectual property protection .
BSA claims will continue to be strong and effective advocates on issues central to the next stage of development of the industry , along with the rapid changes in the digital landscape is creating new opportunities and policy priorities
Before serving in the Obama administration as the U.S. Intellectual Property Enforcement Coordinator first , he served in the Bush Administration as Senior Counselor in the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative , and then became an Assistant U.S. Trade Representative for Intellectual Property and Innovation .
Earlier in his career , Victoria is a lawyer in a private law firm Covington & Burling in London and Washington DC as well as Sidley Austin in New York .
" Victoria is known worldwide as a leader who excels in dealing with issues of intellectual property and trade issues not only because of his position but because he was seen as someone who is knowledgeable , trustworthy and honest , " said Di Fronzo .
In Fronzo added that Victoria really understand where the balance of public outcry when technological innovation continues to change the international market and increase the growth of the digital community . He is a significant asset for the software industry as a spokesman and main supporter .
